We’ve just bee notified of a DDOS attack on our network. Handling a DDOS attack may cause a temporary drop in service. You may experience difficulty connecting to the servers for a short time. Our servers will not go offline and service will return to normal soon. We have protection in place for these things.

Hello everyone! I am equally excited to have this opportunity and take on the challenge of working on the server from an owner position, but I want to make sure everyone knows: I do not plan on making any major changes. Altitude will stay Altitude, and 8bitx and I will be making the bigger decisions together.
I look forward to keeping the server going and ensuring all of you can continue to play on Altitude for a long time to come!
I am very excited to announce that @teriuihi has been promoted an owner position here on Altitude! Some of you may know that over the last few months I’ve had less time to dedicate to Altitude, and with the server bigger than ever I needed some help. I will continue to be the “owner” of the server and will continue to provide guidance to the rest of the team as well as maintain the assets related to the project, but it is time to let someone else take the reins and handle the day to day management and leadership here on Altitude.
Moving forward, Teri will be taking over my responsibilities related to most server management and will guide the project toward his vision of what Altitude can be by: maintaining the server infrastructure, managing the plugins, improving various elements of the server (such as the rules), and leading the staffing team. I will still be around, but questions, concerns, and suggestions should be directed to either Teri or the team!

McMMO is transitioning from a 1000 level system to a 100 level system, and we’ve jumped on board the hype train! All of your McMMO levels have been converted to the new 100 level system. Other than a smaller number, nothing else should have changed – you should still have the same skills and abilities as before!
Because the new system has much fewer levels, it will now take much more XP to get each level. We’ve tweaked the XP system a bit while we were at it to try and make all the stats a little more even (I.E, mining leveled up a lot faster than herbalism before – we tried to even that out a bit).
If you notice any bugs please reach out! But remember: all of your levels should be divided by 10, that’s on purpose!
After a long and tedious transition between hardware I am at a point where I am comfortable opening the servers back up. Note: there may still be undiscovered bugs on the servers! We will be watching the servers carefully for the next 48 hours and fixing bugs as they come up. This means there may be unexpected reboots over the weekend!

Notice! We’ve decided to transition to our new hardware sooner than originally scheduled because we want to be available afterwards in case anything goes wrong, and we are available the entire weekend, so moving now gives us lots of time!
The servers will be shutting down 10 minutes after this announcement is posted. The servers will be offline for several hours while we move all of the data over to the new hardware. At this time we do not have an ETA because we do not know how fast the data will transfer or if there will be any bugs afterwards. We will make another announcement when everything is back online.
I apologize for the sudden change in plans, we’ve just made this decision now because we’ve finished the pre-configuration of the server and it is ready to begin transferring sooner than we expected.
We are looking for community members who are interested in helping us moderate on Valley or Summit. Applicants should be friendly, helpful, and professional, must be a member for at least 1 month, and be 15 years or older.

We will be transferring the server to new hardware Sunday night (JAN 20) starting at 9PM CST (3AM GMT JAN 21). The new hardware we are moving to is very similar to what we have, but is part of a new package that our host offers that now includes 4TB of local storage for backups. We do not expect this transition to affect performance on the servers, but it will allow us to store a much larger history of backups and will give us the opportunity to restructure things during the install to make maintenance easier.
The process of transfering between hardware involves shutting down all of the Minecraft servers, backing up all of the data, transferring the backup to the new hardware, and finally running some tests to ensure it is running correctly on the new hardware. All of the Minecraft servers will be offline throughout this entire process. We do not have an ETA for how long this process will take.
Bugs after a large change like this are expected. We will be closely monitoring the servers throughout Monday (JAN 21) and expect there to be a few reboots that day.
