MyPet is Here!

MyPet is back and better than ever. As one of the most requested plugins on Altitude we are super excited to announce that it’s finally ready to go and there are a lot of new features to explore.

Among the new changes, there are now 8 different skilltrees to choose from for your pet (accessed with /pcst) each with up to 200 levels of skills and abilities to unlock. Pets also have unique health limits and unique foods that they must be fed to keep it alive, so choose your pet wisely! Anybody can give their pet a name, and Platinum members and above can also color the name of their pet.

The ‘Teri’bly Tough Triathlon!

The ‘Teri’bly Tough Triathlon!

This month we are hosting a triathlon unlike any other! Built by Teriuihi, FoolOfHearts, and jake373, this triathlon will put your skills to the test. The first part is a boat race – a dash to the finish – and when you reach the finish you find a sign that teleports you to the second event… a labyrinth. The labyrinth is a dark dark place; you escape from a jail room with your inventory full of enderpearls and try to find your way out as quickly as possible. Finally, when you reach the exit you will be teleported to the final event – a parkour course! The first participant to reach the end of the parkour wins the event!

This event is going to take place on February 24th at 4PM EST. To sign up for this event go to spawn and walk forward towards the harbor, you will find a wall of signs for signing up! Grab a book, sign your name in the book, and drop it in the hoppers to sign up.

How to Bring Stuff to New World

1.13 brings water biomes, dolphins, shipwrecks, icebergs, coral, kelp and more – but to enjoy any of this on the Altitude server we need to generate a new world, so we’ve decided that for 1.13 we will be replacing the survival world with a brand new one. This means that the current world will be closed, and released to everyone as a download, and then we will generate a new world with a new seed. The new world will not be available to play on until the server is officially updated to 1.13, and 1.13 is scheduled for release sometime between April and June.

Players will be allowed to carry over a limited amount of items (16 shulkers or 8 double chests) into the new world that way we aren’t completely starting over, but there is at least a little challenge and adventure in the new world. Inventories, enchanting XP, achievements, and McMMO levels will be reset – but all other data (including playtime and ranks) will be kept. In order to carry your stuff over to the new world you need to claim a plot in the transfer world, which you can access with /warp chests. Once you are in that world do /plots auto to get a plot. You can put up to 16 shulkers, or 8 double chests, into your plot with all the stuff you want to carry over. You can NOT put any shulkers into the chests if you choose to use chests. You can access your plot and modify it as many times as you wish, so you can begin storing stuff in your plot starting today.

 

Economy is disabled so that we can begin working on it for 1.13. You should exchange your money for 44:2 (petrified oak slabs) using the signs at /warp chests. The plan is to let you convert your money to these items at a low price now, and then let you re-sell the item at a higher price once 1.13 comes out. This way, the item serves as a medium to convert your old dollars to the new dollars and you don’t lose any money. We are using this random item because it doesn’t have any value in survival and isn’t obtainable in vanilla, so we won’t flood the new world with thousands of a valuable item.

Once the new world is loaded and the old world is closed, players will have 1 month to access the plot world and remove their stuff from their plot. After 1 month the plot world will be closed.

Big Changes Coming 1.13!

Hello everyone, big changes are coming with the release of the Minecraft 1.13 and our new management! Our goal is to create the best server we can for you guys and we’ve been listening! We will keep everyone informed about the changes on the server and how these changes will effect things in the coming months. For now, here’s the plan:

First, the world is being reset. Yes, yes, we know this is a big one, but hear us out. There are some pretty big changes coming to 1.13 (not only from Mojang, but from us) and a new world is the best way to implement all of these changes without any bugs. Additionally, the current world is littered with abandoned builds, and old claims, and many of the resources have been collected. Our plan is to allow people to bring over some of their stuff in shulkers or chests. There will be a poll in Discord to decide how much stuff to let people carry over.

Second, we are bringing back /sell. We’ve heard what you think about the current economy, and we are going back to our roots – allowing you to sell just about anything to the server to make a profit! Creating a chest-shop will also be free in the new system. Pricing for most items will also be changing, but don’t worry, we have a plan to transfer your current balance to the new system without it losing any value. We will also be bringing back warps that teleport you! The new plugin, currently in development, will completely automate applying for and managing warps, and it will teleport anyone who clicks on your warp right to your front door. Booming player shops here we come!

Additionally, back by popular demand is MyPets! MyPets is going to be making a comeback as soon as this month’s event is over. Pets can fight for you, collect resources, be ridden, and level up to get stronger. You will also be able to name your pet and Platinum+ will be able to give the names color. It will take three hours to revive your pet if it dies so be careful. Also, each pet’s health is what it would have normally in the wild (max 30).

We are also introducing a custom mcmmo configuration as well as custom achievements. This configuration adds support for the new blocks and items and also has a slower and more even exp rate. In order to implement this custom McMMO configuration current McMMO levels will be reset. The custom achievements will add a little extra inspiration to get out there and explore – by keeping track of how many blocks you’ve walked, diamonds you’ve mined, pigs you’ve ridden, and more. Try to stay on top of the leaderboard with most achievements completed, and we will constantly be adding more.

The block claim limit has been increased to 70k blocks. This has already been added to the server. However, note that claim expirations have been decreased to 60 days. Many people have been requesting that we lower this to allow for more exploring/looting of abandoned homes. This should definitely make exploration more interesting, and allow us to use more land in the world with less inactive claims laying around, but be certain to stay active so you don’t lose your stuff!

Home limits have changed too. You will get two homes at Drifter, three homes at Traveler, four homes at settler, and five homes at veteran. Donors will get 7 homes, 8 homes at Donor plus, 9 homes at Platinum, and 11 homes at Ultimate.

We are going to be dropping the current vote reward system and replacing it with vote crates. You will get a crate key every day that you vote on all six sites (and possibly mini keys at random).
