Most of the players that will be reading this are not toxic. However, they have to deal with toxic players all too often. I’ve written this announcement to make clear what our stance on this is and what we are planning to do about toxicity. Our chat rules give quite a lot of freedom for people to discuss whatever they want. We want everyone to keep this freedom but there are people that abuse it.
However, our chat rules aren’t the only rules that affect what you can say in chat. As you will most likely have noticed while reading our rules is that each section has a catch-all rule. We will be enforcing these rules more strictly. In particular, the following two will be used to crack down on the excessive amount of toxicity: “Keep everyone in mind when you do something, and avoid behavior that would make others feel unwelcome or uncomfortable.” and “We do not allow any behavior that intentionally hurts others. Never do anything to purposely be upsetting, insulting, or annoying to anyone else on our services.” If you see players breaking these rules, please /report them or utilize the #help channel. If you don’t feel confident doing that you can always take a few screenshots and send them to a staff member directly. We will pull the logs and punish players even if we weren’t online while it happened. We want to take your concerns seriously and agree that the toxicity as of late has gone quite too far.
Since these rules are less black and white they are bound to be more based on opinion, if you feel you are being punished unjustfully in any way please do not discuss this with the staff member who punished you or start arguing about it in chat or Discord. Instead please submit an appeal, we can then review the punishment. If it was unjustified the punishment will be removed.
