We have concluded that StackMob was the cause of the recent lag. The problem, was that there were so many stacks on Valley that the plug-in was using all of the server’s RAM to keep track of them. This caused the server to constantly try to free up some RAM and the CPU was over capacity because it was preoccupied doing endless memory garbage collection.
We now have a new issue: StackMob worked great at reducing entity lag, which means fixing one cause of lag is only going to lead to another…
We need your help! Limit the size of your farms! Only have as many animals as you need. Do NOT leave grinders running, and don’t build grinders that aren’t necessary. Together, if we can be smart about it, we may be able to live without StackMob.
Mobs cause a TON of lag. If we are going to stay lag free we need all of you help. The alternative is just disabling mobs entirely, and we don’t want to do that.
