We are aware of the recent lag spikes on the survival servers. We are currently in the process of figuring out what is causing the lag spikes. Once we discover the root cause of the problem we can them begin researching solutions.
A few days ago we disabled Pigmen spawns near nether portals because we noticed they were accounting for up to 25% of a server’s total CPU load. This change did not entirely fix the issue, however, and tonight we will be removing the Playtime plugin since timings reports suggest it may be the cause of the spikes.
We can not tell at this time whether these features will remain disabled or not. We cannot make a decision until we have collected enough data, pinpointed the cause(s) of the lag, and explored all possible options.
