One week ago today Mojang released their first 1.13.1 snapshot, fixing a bug in the world generation that caused some natural structures (temples, villages, etc) to not generate in the world. I was not aware of this bug until today, when they released their second snapshot for 1.13.1 and I began looking into what exactly they were fixing.
If we release a 1.13 server now, the world we use will be permanently missing some of it’s structures. We don’t know exactly how many, but I believe it is around 6.5% of all structures. Because of this, we ran a poll earlier today on Discord to see whether the community wants us to still release a 1.13 server now, or wait. With over 100 votes entered, 75% of people voted to wait, so that is what we are going to do! This will give Mojang a chance to fix the world generation bugs, some known game-crashing bugs, and a chance to improve performance of 1.13. Plus, it will allow more of our plugins to update too!
The 1.13 server is almost ready to go, other than waiting for this update (and a secret project we are working on), so everyone should expect us to drop the 1.13 beta server very soon after Mojang releases 1.13.1. Hopefully within 2 days of them doing that. There will still be a 24 hour notice, so just keep an eye out for that!
