Sadly the pandemic is not over yet, and most of us are stuck inside for the foreseeable future. The good news is we’re keeping our sale going! Your support of Altitude during these difficult times has been amazing, thank you all!
We are looking for community members who are interested in helping us moderate Altitude! We are opening applications for all servers. Moderator duties include: upholding the server rules and assisting players with using our services. Each moderator is assigned to one home server but is also expected to help moderate all other servers including creative and Discord.
Applicants should be friendly, helpful, and professional. Applicants are required to have been a member for at least 1 month, be 16 years or older, and play at least 7 hours per week. Applications will be open until April the 3rd. Please make sure to answer using the times and availability you would have without the quarantining that’s going on in the world right now. We will still need these staff members after everything goes back to normal.
Before you send your application make sure you check how you’ve written it. We get a lot of poorly written applications, these usually end up denied instantly. To apply go to: https://alttd.com/apply
Hello everyone! Optifine has finally released a preview that includes shader support! This means I can finally get around to taking a new group photo of our community!! I have decided that I’m going to be taking two separate photos; this will hopefully allow for more people to be able to make it into one or the other or even both pictures. We’ll be using the pictures for things like the Altitude website, the social medias (Twitter, Instagram, and Reddit), and our blog.
The photos are being taken at two different times, again to try and accommodate more peoples schedules. Friday’s photo will be taken at 3PM EST/7PM UTC. Saturday’s photo will be taken at 6PM EST/10PM UTC
Please note: anyone who tries to be disruptive during the photo or cause issues for the rest of the group will be removed from the server.
Because of the recent COVID19 pandemic, many places of schooling, work, and leisure are closing. In addition to this, the necessity of social distancing has made many activities outside the house unappealing at best and dangerous at worst. A lot more of you have been online recently for these reasons, and we really appreciate your continued support of Altitude! It is for this reason that we are launching a new sale. From now until March 31st midnight UTC, everything in the store will be 19% off. We hope all of you continue to stay healthy, and thank you for playing!
All servers are temporarily closing down in 30 minutes to move over the databases from the old Summit/Valley server to the new server. This shouldn’t take long, but since there can be unexpected issues we cannot give an ETA. As soon as Meadow and Atoll are back up we will begin moving Summit, Valley, and lobby to their new server – so they will be down for longer. We apologize for the short notice, we decided to do this as soon as we could because of the high player counts.
Shack’s 3 year anniversary of being on the staff team is fast approaching! His anniversary of joining the team is in four days, and he’s been an admin for just 3 months less than that. During his time as admin, he has helped the server and the team immensely—but there is a limit to how much you can do as an admin. Some things require more access than admins currently have. Most of these things require access to the main account these services are managed from, and I am not comfortable giving all admins access to that. This is why I will be promoting Shack to co-owner! With this change, he will be able to help out with the server more and overall make things run more smoothly through his expertise.
Shack will be able to help me with the things that usually go unnoticed, such as setting up a new server or editing a voting page. With 4 servers and an ever-growing community, I need some help to keep everything going smoothly. I’ve already gotten a lot of help from a management perspective from Josh, but Shack will be helping me with the more technical part of Altitude. I’m not stepping away from Altitude in the slightest—I’ll still be here the same amount—but some days the number of things I need to do can be overwhelming and with Shack’s help I hope we’ll be better equipped for that. Thank you for continuing to play on Altitude, and congratulate Shack if you see him!
The community goal we started has been reached and I’ve ordered the server. Sadly some parts are out of stock so we won’t be able to upgrade right away but as soon as it’s delivered I’ll start work on it. For now, everyone can enjoy the 25% sale for the next 24 hours!
The event team are opening event team applications in order to grow the team with enthusiastic and talented builders. Event team members work together to design and develop unique events for the server, and we hope that you can help us in that process!
It is important to note that joining events will not help you in any applications as moderators as they are unrelated roles.
We ask of the following of our applicants:
- Shows maturity and is 15+ years of age,
- Plays an average of 7 hours a week on Altitude,
- Is friendly and enthusiastic to maintain our events to a high standard.
Applications will stay open for a week. To apply go to https://alttd.typeform.com/to/Hnt6ra
As many of you know the physical server Atoll and Meadow are on has been upgraded, the one Summit and Valley are on is still the same. I want to upgrade these but especially the initial costs aren’t cheap. That’s why I’ve decided to add a temporary Community Goal in the donation store. When it’s reached it will start a 25% sale for 24 hours as a thank you and a small celebration. Altitude would not be possible without the donations from our donors, thank you everyone!
That concludes the fishing event for this year, thanks to everyone who participated! In order to collect your prize, go to valley and /kit (kitname), make sure to have enough space in your inventory. These kits will be available to redeem for the next week so please make sure that you don’t miss out on your goodies.
Congrats to our bonus winners who also received some keys for catching the largest fish: 1st- JoIsAwesome 2nd – TIKLucas 3rd – claire0blood.
